I keep noticing that Decathlon socks are quite interesting, in that they are very good for their price.

The ones I liked are kinda thick. I used to play tennis at school and we always use thick socks. The cushioning is good for impact, and it keeps you warm should you ever travel.
(We also had to learn table manners at school, but since as I have learned, some people will laugh at you for being so particular while being poorer than the provision shop owner, I guess all my education was wasted money.)
The problem with me buying thick socks was that in the past, if the socks were thick, it would have to be Thorlos. Thorlos is very thick, but it also makes the feet perspire a lot, especially when you live in a tropical climate. That tends to give me fungi between the toes. Thorlos is also very expensive.
The ones in the photo above are called “double socks”… this reminds me of a certain things:
- The double-walled Thermos coffee mug;
- The double-layered window pane used in facade engineering (because I had met a French engineer who does that sort of thing);
- The fact that some previous sergeants told us during training that in case you run out of underwear, you need to turn the underwear inside out and wear it on the other side. But of course, that was a long time ago
I like it that Decathlon sells very colourful stuff; they are also very comfortable, because I am very particular about that. I had wanted to work there actually because I saw it as a fashion store + toy store + sport store. I just wished the guys section also had some colourful stuff; that’s actually why I used to spend some time checking out the women’s section to see if they have it in a similar size. Plus, it is said that the women are more sensitive, so it does make me wonder if the cushioning on their product line is better.
