For a time, a short period, I was trying out a time tracking app.
Because I used to calculate the hourly wage rate based on given office hours before I would consider a job. I did that because I know lawyers charge by the hour. It’s just for comparison.
I also did that because I actually aim to leave the office at the end of working hours. Hence the planning of the to-do lists.
So based on the time tracking app, you can assign a dollar value to every hour of a particular activity you do for whatever.
It’s a simple exercise, but it makes you confront yourself about what you want. I noticed during that period I always assign the most value to exercise; because I was brain dead and very upset.
And that one hour of alone time listening to music.
And then I would calculate the “profit” that way.
Obviously needless chatting at work is considered wasted time. And long meetings are considered wasted time. Lim Chin Soon is always about very, very long meetings—every freaking workday about twice a day.
The Dutch also have very long meetings, but it’s a very huge and complex business.
